Harishchandrachi Factory is a 2009 Marathi film, directed by Paresh Mokashi. “Harishchandrachi Factory” means “Harishchandra’s Factory”.

Harishchandrachi Factory by director Paresh Mokashi was selected as India’s official entry to Academy Award in the Best Foreign Language Film Category, making it the second Marathi film to receive this honour. The first movie was Shwas of 2004.

Harishchandrachi Factory Review:
Basic idea behind the story of Harishchandrachi Factory came from Dadasaheb Phalke who started Indian Film Industry in 1913.  In 1913 in Maharashtra, India two business partners fall out resulting in one leaving the company. Then Phalke (Nandu Madhav) decides to make his own silent motion picture along with the support of his family for survival.

But it needs special technology for making movie which was available in England, so he travels to England to learn about the new medium. When he returns brings together a team of actors and technicians to produce his first film. He decides the story of Raja Harishchandra for his movie. With family support and hard working team movie not only completes but becomes a hit thus marking the beginning of one of the world’s biggest film industry.
