Monali Thakur Indian Idol’s rising playback singer
Monali Thakur is an Indian playback singer sings for bollywood movies who born on November 3, 1985 in Kolkata, India.
Monali Thakur is basically from musical family, her father Shakti Thakur is a Bengali singer as well as an actor. Mehuli Thakur-Goswami is her sister who is well known professional playback singer.
From childhood Monali Thakur was participating in school and local functions as well as in college. In Indian Idol volume 2 she ranked ninth and from here she got popularity. It was not expected that she would be eliminated from Indian Idol, but unfortunately she failed to reach in the final three and got eliminated. After that Anu Malik gave her opportunity as a playback singer for Jaan-E-Mann. This led sequentially another opportunity in 2008 to sing one song for the movie Race. But during the recording movie director Abbas and Mustan were quite impressed by her performance and they offered her second song also. Those two songs are "Khwab Dekhe (Sexy lady)" and "Zara Zara Touch Me", in which “Zara zara” was very successful song of 2008.
In 2008, she also sang in the movie Golmaal Returns for the song “Meow”. In recent movie “Billu Barber” starring Shahrukh Khan, Imran Khan and Lara Dutta she has sung a song “Khudaya Khair”. In upcoming movies “Mr. Bhatti on Chutti” and “Dulha Mil Gaya” once again you can listen her voice. Her future plans are for a solo album with nine songs.
